Where to Find the Best UK Gold Dealer

Posted by admin at Jul 14, 2011 | No Comments »

If you are one person looking for a good way to invest, gold is one recommended option. Why is this so? It is because the value of this precious metal does not decrease even when the economy is at its worse.  When we talk of gold, we don’t only refer to the raw ones. They are basically the gold bullions in the form of bars and coins.  These are the gold minted and issued by the government. A few of the most popular and valuable gold coins are the South African Krugerrand, Australain Kangaroo, Austrian Philharmonic, American Eagle, Canadian maple and Chinese Panda. Take in mind though those gold bullions do not include gold jewelry.

When you think that this is the way of investment that you would like to try then you have two options; either you buy them online or offline. So what makes a good gold dealer? A good gold dealer is one that has gained reputation and has never, not even once had been involved in any sort of scams or counterfeiting.  He Read more…

They will be joined by Rebekah Brooks, the News International Chief Executive, in what will be the most eagerly anticipated hearing at Westminster for decades.

Both Rupert Murdoch, News Corporation’s chairman and chief executive, and James had initially said they would not be attending next Tuesday’s meeting of the Culture Media and Sport Committee.

James, who is News International’s European chairman, said he could only attend at a later date.

But after a six-hour stand off, and with pressure from MPs, the Prime Minister and the deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, and faced with being sent a summons by the Serjeant at Arms, both men relented and agreed to attend.

The three executives will face fierce questioning from MPs who have fought a tenacious campaign to expose the phone hacking scandal which has plunged Mr Murdoch’s media into crisis in the space of two weeks.

Credit card debt bankruptcy compared to debt settlement

Posted by admin at Jul 14, 2011 | No Comments »

Getting out of mounting debts comes down to making a choice between the two options. These two options include opting for debt settlement or opting to file for bankruptcy. A number of consumers find it easy to file for credit card debt bankruptcy as it seems to be the easiest solution and has been done for a number of years. It is always wise to compare the two options and then decide what the best way is. This always works out much better than taking an impulsive decision and filing for bankruptcy without knowing the consequences.

When we begin to examine the impact of both the options on the debts owed, it is clear that with credit card debt bankruptcy, one is not required to pay off most of the debts. One can get a clean financial start in most cases. There are however some exceptions like child support payments, taxes, alimony payments etc. which are not included and one is still responsible for paying them. Read more…

Credit Card Debt Management to Escape Bankruptcy

Posted by admin at Jul 14, 2011 | No Comments »

One of the main disadvantages of having debt is that the person will not realize the seriousness of the situation until he is neck deep in it. By the time he realizes the situation he is in whatever he tries he will find it difficult to reduce his debt and rather it will be mounting again. In this case it is better to take help from a professional rather than making the situation worse. Many people are ignorant regarding the credit card debt management programs available nowadays. The number of companies offering help in this field is huge nowadays, so select the company with care. An inexperienced company can even worsen the current financial situation of the person.

The first step is to analyze and make a list of all the current debts and credit card bills. Once the person has got this list in order then he can go to an experienced debt consolidator for credit card debt consolidation. Read more…

Blue Cash Preferred℠ Card from American Express $100 Cash Back Bonus

Posted by Wendy Conklin at Jul 14, 2011 | No Comments »

Roughly four years ago, I started writing about finance on a regular basis.  Included in my writing about finance is a lot of credit card work and for years, I haven’t seen an offer as good as the one recently launched by American Express.  The Blue Cash Preferred℠ Card from American Express is a consumer credit card that requires top not credit for approval.  Rightfully so, because the rewards and perks this card offers haven’t been seen in a long time.  Let’s take a long look at why the Blue Cash Preferred℠ Card from American Express has become my favorite credit card.

To get things started, the Blue Cash Preferred℠ Card from American Express offers cardholders a $100 cash back bonus after making $500 in purchases during the first 90 days of card ownership.  That $100 is only the beginning though as this card offers an extremely impressive cash back program that looks a little like this:

  • Earn 6% cash back at supermarkets.
  • Earn 3% cash back at gas stations and department stores.
  • Earn 1% cash back on all other eligible purchases.

Cash back never expires and the six percent you see at supermarkets is the highest amount of cash back I’ve ever seen.  Especially considering that none of the levels you see above are tiered (meaning there is no spend requirement or limit to the amount of cash you can earn) this card is ultimately the best cash back credit card available today.

The Blue Cash Preferred℠ Card from American Express also provides a 0% intro APR on purchases for six or 12 months, depending on the applicants credit history.  Once the intro rate expires, the purchase APR is 17.24%, 19.24% or 21.24% variable.  This feature is actually a strong detraction, however if you can manage to pay your balance off in full every month, it won’t matter.  Just as strong of a negative is the $75 annual fee but considering how much money you can save at the pump and supermarket, the annual fee is a drop in the bucket.

For example, let’s assume you spend $100 a week at the grocery store and $25 a week in gasoline purchases.  That means each year, $5,200 is spent on groceries and $1,300 is spent on gas.  That means $348 is saved every year on just those two categories.  When you factor in department store cash back and 1% overall cash back, more than $400 can be saved with a conservative estimate.  For anyone who spends more money driving to work or feeding a large family, it’s possible to save more than $1,000 annually.  Very impressive.

Don’t forget that because this card is issued by American Express, all cardholders are entitled to a world class perks program.  Extended warranties, roadside assistance and unique access to special events are just a few of the reasons American Express is regarded as the bets issuer in the eyes of cardholders.  Finally, it’s important to mention that every time a friend you refer signs up for the Blue Cash Preferred℠ Card from American Express, you’ll receive $75.  From top to bottom, this card is a class of all credit cards today and with an added bonus, anyone with excellent credit deserves to take advantage.   To sign-up for the Blue Cash Preferred℠ Card from American Express, visit any link contained within this post.

New Netflix pricing: No thanks

Posted by Wendy Conklin at Jul 13, 2011 | No Comments »

For more than a decade I’ve been a big Netflix fan, even back when it took a few days to get a disc in the mail and there was a Blockbuster outletplus a few independent video storesjust a block from my NYC apartment.

But even though my situation has changedI’m now a parent and living outside the cityI’ve still been a big Netflix fan, getting Blu-ray discs by mail to play in my dedicated basement home theater, and streaming videos in other rooms of the house. Even though I’m paying a $2-per-month premium for Blu-ray movies, I’d argue that Netflix has been among the best bargains in our home.

But that’s all about to change, thanks to Netflix’s new pricing scheme that for me will constitute a 50-percent increase; it could be even more for those on a different plan. And this comes after the company raised rates last fall by a range of 7 percent to 17 percent, and at a time when the the tough economy if forcing many of us to find ways to trim our budgets, not spend more.
